Whitebeard's Bisento

Edward Newgate's main choice of weapon is shown to be a Bisento, a giant and heavy spear-like weapon.

With Whitebeard's immense skills and powers, the bisento was strong enough to clash with Shanks' saber, which caused the clouds to split. Also, the bisento is extremely durable, as it stopped Akainu's magma attack without melting. The bisento can also be used in conjunction with his Devil Fruit power to maximize the devastation done by his attacks.

• It appears Whitebeard uses the bisento for defense rather than offense, as he has only used it to block the attacks of Shanks, Akainu and John Giant, most likely he also uses it to keep balance after tilting an area.
• The bisento is one of the three attributes (the other two being the Gura Gura no Mi and the status as a Four Emperor) that makes Whitebeard resemble the Greek God of the sea, Poseidon, who wields a trident. The bisento is close enough to resemble Poseidon's trident.
