Greetings, mortals!

In the past I've been asked by a few users to code them a table of their favorite characters like the one I have on my profile page. And to get the noobs off my ass in my great generosity I, the all-mighty witch Neo, decided to teach you how to make a character table for your profile.

Getting Started & Table Color

First you need to go to your user page and click "Edit Profile". If you have the wikia default settings your editor should be set to "Visual" mode. Change it to "Source" mode.

http://img689.imageshack.us/img689/5876/sourcemode.png

You create sub-headlines by putting them into "==" like this: ==My Favorite Characters==

To set up a table you start with the following code:

The only part of this code that is of interest for you is the one determining the colors of the table. Leave the rest alone, it looks best this way.

"Background" is the color of the table and "color" is the color of the text within the table. They are followed by a code consisting of a # and a six-digit number for the specific color.

If you want a color scheme from the wiki for your profile check out this page and search for the scheme you want. If you want to make your own color scheme and don't know the colors' codes, you might find this page very handy. Just copy and paste.

It's further important to know that you start every new row with |-

Headlines within the Table

I like to divide my character table into female and male characters. So next we make a little headline within the table with this chunk of code:

colspan="5"| Male Characters

Pictures!

And now comes the fun part. And by fun I mean annoying as hell! We are going to fill the table with pictures.

To do that you must find the portrait of the character you want. Usually you'll find them under the pirate crew/organisation the character is part of or the place they appeared in. If you really don't know where to look, check the category "Gallery Templates" here: http://onepiece.wikia.com/wiki/Category:Gallery_Templates. This is where all the existing tables are.

Now you must get the file name. This is tricky because portraits link you to the character's article instead of enlarging when you click on them like ordinary pictures.

If you search through the Gallery Templates for portraits you can simply open the source code of the table they are in and copy the entire line of code. Saves you time, too.

If you search by articles, right-click on the image and (depending on your browser) click either "view image" or "open image in new tab" and then copy the last part of the URL. Like this:

http://img22.imageshack.us/img22/8991/mihawkexample.png

To add the picture write the code as following:

Writing the "120px" is important because some portrait images are larger than 120x120 pixel and this will shrink them down. The "link" refers to the article that will open when you click the image. You don't need it but I like to keep it.

I'll make 2 rows of 5 Mihawks to demonstrate how it works.

If we close our table code with
our code should look like this:
colspan="5"| Male Characters

And the preview should look like this:

Male Characters
Dracule Mihawk Portrait Dracule Mihawk Portrait Dracule Mihawk Portrait Dracule Mihawk Portrait Dracule Mihawk Portrait
Dracule Mihawk Portrait Dracule Mihawk Portrait Dracule Mihawk Portrait Dracule Mihawk Portrait Dracule Mihawk Portrait

Names

Writing the names of the characters underneath the portraits is pretty simple. Just make a new row below the row of images and write the name after a ! like this:

colspan="5"| Male Characters

Dracule Mihawk
Dracule Mihawk
Dracule Mihawk
Dracule Mihawk
Dracule Mihawk
Male Characters
Dracule Mihawk Portrait Dracule Mihawk Portrait Dracule Mihawk Portrait Dracule Mihawk Portrait Dracule Mihawk Portrait
Dracule Mihawk Dracule Mihawk Dracule Mihawk Dracule Mihawk Dracule Mihawk

If you want to link the name to the article you must put it into [ ] brackets:

Dracule Mihawk

And you will have to tell the link which text color it has to have:

<font color="{#B0E0E6}">Dracule Mihawk

End

Always close your table with
at the end of the code.

Ask!

If you have any questions ask me! If your code doesn't work and you want me to check it, you can put it into <"pre">your code here</"pre"> (without the ") so I can have a look.
