Hello there!!!
Sorry i havent been here for quite a few months i think.. ( i lost track).. Well i had to perpare for my entrnce...
Now back to the topic...
As you can guess from the topic what this blog is going to be about...I have been giving it a lot of thought.... and wanted to know the inspiration that Oda got in real life to draw the jolly roger of the characters in the OP world...
As we might all know that Whitebeards flag was inspired by the Nazi symbol with the circle being changed for a skull... and the the Swastik symbol being inverted.....[[File:Nazi_symbol.jpeg|thumb|Nazi symbol]This was however [[File:WhitebeardFlagge.png|thumb|left|218px|Different Whitebeard jolly rogers]changed to a bone crossbone due to the objection from many.....
Then there is Alvida whose jolly roger seems to be inspires form Henry Every, who was one of the most successful pirates during the 1694 to may be a decade... and was the first to operate in the Indian ocean.... His jolly roger consisted of a right facing skull head with a crossbone motif below it... also the skull had a head band which ended in a circle at its base...
[[File:Jollyro1.gif|thumb|127px|Henry Every's Jolly Roger.][[File:Alvida_Pirates'_Jolly_Roger.png|thumb|left|152px|Alvida's Jolly Roger.]As for Alvida's the skull is left facing and the head band is replaced by a heart....
Then there is the sight for sore eyes Marshal D. Teach, aka Blackbeard.. His jolly roger seems to be inspired from the Cover art for the song "The Clairvoyant" by the famous metal band "IRON MAIDEN"[[File:Art_clairvoyant_3.jpg|thumb|Single_iron_maiden_clairvoyant]
[[File:Blackbeard_Pirates'_Jolly_Roger.png|thumb|left|212px|blackbeard's Jolly Roger.]The song was released by the band in 1988 as their 19th single which debuted in no. 6 in the UK charts...
About the similarities you be the judge of it.. :)
Well these are the few i found and hope you will help to find others and your views will be greatly appericiated... SORRY IT BECAME A BIT LONG...
