According to the latest SBS in volume 49, a reader noted that Sachi's name maybe based on Thatch, the other name the real life Blackbeard was known for other than Teach. Oda confirms that he based the name on Thatch. Suffice to say, it seems like this guy's name is apparently spelled out as Thatch. Mugiwara Franky 15:43, 3 March 2008 (UTC)
I agree that Thatch is the most likely spelling now, but I want to point out it's not 100% certain. Roronoa is based on L'ollonais, and this might be a similar situation. But for now, there's no reason I know of to favor the Sachi spelling. --71.161.224.249 21:37, 3 March 2008 (UTC)
- There is the possibility of it being like Roronoa indeed, however there is as of now no evidence to suggest it being not Thatch. However it's pretty clear with the current evidence that its Thatch. It's kinda like Marshall D. Teach. When the name was first uttered, people pretty much spelled it Teach as it was the original Blackbeard's name. Mugiwara Franky 23:19, 4 March 2008 (UTC)

One good hint of his power is Blackbeard using a sneak attack on him rather than fight him straight on. For those who say this doesn't count because didn't because the latter didn't have a devil fruit, remember this that the yami yami no mi main power is to allow to harm other devil fruit users so it would have kept the results pretty much the same if the neither ace or teach have their powers.

Isn't his abilities and powers page a bit...i don't know, unfair to Ace? Saying that Blackbeard could take ace on in a direct fight is true, but he did have the yami yami no mi at the time.
