Does anyone have any idea why the Demon Guards' maces don't have spikes in the anime? Like, was there any confirmed reason for this censor? If so, please do put it up, as I am a little curious about it. Yatanogarasu 4:43, April 18, 2010 (UTC)

To little is known. Heck, we don't even know what "awakened" zoan means, it could also be a technique that mimics devil fruit powers. Who knows? All speculation.Jinbe 13:41, February 21, 2011 (UTC)
The demon guards chopped Buggy? It happened with the Blugori! I'm deleting that sentence, if I'm wrong please forgive me and readd it. --Meganoide 12:45, September 6, 2011 (UTC)

Isn't the name inaccurate? They're called Gokusotsujū (獄卒獣) in Japanese, which seems to mean something like "Guard/Jailer Beast" rather than anything to do with demons. Sadi-chan's title of Gokusotsu Chō (獄卒長) is translated as "Chief Guard" and jū simply means "beast". So why are we calling these guys "Demon Guards"? Awaikage Talk 18:51, October 19, 2014 (UTC)
Can't deny that, guess a mistranslation occurred somewhere.20:19, October 19, 2014 (UTC)
I thought Demon Guard was a more informal title than you're making it out to be. I doubt it can be a mistranslation. I mean, even subs used it if I remember correctly.20:30, October 19, 2014 (UTC)
Fansubs, most likely they mistook based on the manga. If it's Funi, then it'd probably be their idea of spicing up/tuning down things, just like any official English dubbing.21:50, October 19, 2014 (UTC)
