Super-Human Strength
From One Piece Encyclopedia
Most humans in One Piece are normal everyday people who have little strength and fighting skills. Some however, display strength often referred to by people as "Super-Human Strength", that is strength that is beyond the normal human strength limits. It is one of two known 'Super-Human' conditions, the other being Super-Human Speed.
Normally, Super-Human Strength is a product of years of heavy training. Not every human with Super-Human Strength appears physically muscle-bound (such as Luffy). As displayed by Miss Monday, it is also not confined to just the male gender and females may also achieve this status.
Humans who have Super-Human Strength can easily destroy objects such as wood, concrete and in some cases metal and in battle tend to rely on power-based attacks most of all. The effectiveness of Super-Human strength is useless against techniques such as Rokushiki and many Devil Fruits are equally effective against them. Of course, sophisticated fighting styles or Devil Fruit powers, when honed and incorporated with inhuman physical power, makes the user all the more formidable in combat. It is difficult for normal humans to fight a Super-Human person unaided, unless an effective strategy is used against them that can take advantage of their reliance on power and strength.
There is some difficulty when realizing what characters have this power and what do not as Eiichiro Oda does not always openly say when a character has it. It is also the strength possessed by some races such as the Fishmen and the Giants; making every member of these races far stronger than ordinary humans.
