The real human Risky Brothers are two male pirates working as members of the Rolling Pirates under their captain Lola. Though without names, one is notable as a large-set male with a mask over half his head and a sword slung over his shoulder while the other is a living man who appears similar to a zombie, yet with curly hair and a striped shirt. The duo are the most prominent members of the crew outside Lola as well as of the Thriller Bark Victim's Association, assisting the Straw Hats both in the creation of Nightmare Luffy by stuffing 100 shadows into the captain[2] as well as protecting those who lost their shadows during the final conflict with Oars and Gecko Moria[3] Though obsessed in getting their shadows back, they are also cowardly in fearing both Moria and getting killed with their shadow-less condition. After Moria's defeat, the Risky Brothers, along with Lola and the other Thriller Bark victims, stood by the Straw Hats during their confrontation with Bartholomew Kuma, only to be hit by his bizarre abilities and knocked out by his Ursus Shock attack.[4] After the crisis ended, the Risky Brothers gave commentary and advice regarding the path the Straw Hats was headed towards the New World, in particular their astonishment on the beauty of mermaids as they faced Fishman Island. They also comment on the fact the Mermaid Princess even surpasses Boa Hancock in terms of beauty.[5]

A duo of Zombie squirrels that served Perona.[6] Their name was a play on the Japanese word for squirrel. They fought with an axe and a saw. The shadows that were being used to animate them were derived from the Rolling Pirates with the same name.[1] They first appeared as the ones carrying the coffins that contained Usopp, Nami, and Chopper. While transporting the coffins, they accidentally dropped and opened the coffin containing Chopper, waking him, and were subsequently defeated by him. Later, after they recovered from his attack, they scurried off somewhere else to get their allies. They were later seen in the treasure room shocked by Nami's attack. They were interrogated by her for the location of the treasures previously stored there.[7]

The shadows animating them were then later sucked out of them by their master, Gecko Moria. Without any shadows animating them, they returned to being stitched up squirrel corpses.[8]

[edit] Trivia

  • The word "Risky" includes the section "risu", which is Japanese for "squirrel". This explanation shows why the Risky Brother zombies were squirrels.
