Led by First Division Commander Marco, the remainder of the Whitebeard Pirates sought revenge for the events that led up to and caused the Battle of Marineford. They had brought in their full forces in order to engage the Blackbeard Pirates, who responded in kind. However, the Whitebeard Pirates suffered an overwhelming defeat.[1]
Aftermath
After their defeat and failed revenge, the commanders of the Whitebeard Pirates seemingly disappeared, and have not been heard from since, with Marco's fate unknown.[1]Nekomamushi claims to know of Marco's whereabouts if he were to have survived.
Blackbeard's victory over the Whitebeard Pirates led the world to start recognizing him as one of the Yonko, replacing Whitebeard's position. The rise of the new Yonko and the battle surrounding it became global news.[1]
Monkey D. Luffy, who was training on Rusukaina for the two years during the war, was unaware it happened until he was told about it by his crew on Zou. This only intensified his hatred for Teach.[1]
