Discussions

Discussions are a place where users can discuss the series by making posts, polls, and comments in its own section. This space is intended to be place where users can have good discussions about the series, so it's rules are tailored to make sure posts help start healthy conversations.

In all Discussions, users should be nice and treat people with respect. Keep discussions civil and be open-minded about differing opinions. Any user who goes out of their way to make discussions an unwelcoming environment for others, such as trolling to evoke a response will face consequences.

Rules for all posts:

  • Posts must contain a minimum of two complete sentences in addition to the title or they will be deleted and will result in a short ban if warnings are ignored.
    • The only exception to this rule is if the post is a question regarding the plot, which will be locked once it is answered.
  • Users may only post a maximum of 3 posts in 24 hours, and only one may be a poll.
  • Posts comparing the strength of characters/powers/etc must contain the poster’s own thoughts on the topic and related characters/powers. Questions do not count towards the minimum sentence requirement.
  • Low effort posts, such as sharing memes, etc. are not allowed as their own post. Memes and that type of content is only allowed as comments on relevant posts, or as comments on the Monthly Meme Collection posts.
  • Fan art is allowed as posts, but only if it is created by the user posting it. Users may not use these posts to violate other rules, including advertising links to external sites.
    • Fan art created by others may be posted as comments in relevant posts.

There are a few rules related specifically to polls:

  • Post containing polls must ask question in a complete sentence, including a question mark, or they will be deleted.
  • Users may only post one poll every 24 hours. Any additional polls posted before that time has passed will be deleted.
  • Any poll tournament or related series of polls must be approved by a moderator before they start. Users should @ tag the mod that approved the tournament in the comments of all polls within the tournament.
  • Users who create polls of any topic must include their own opinion in the comments no later than one half hour after posting.
  • All polls should be added to the "Polls" category, if it's not added, a mod may edit the post to add it.

The following topics are not allowed:

  • Anything unrelated to One Piece or the One Piece Wiki.
  • Any content that violates the wiki’s Spoiler Rules.
  • Any form of roleplaying, fanon, fanfiction, shipping, etc.
  • Posts or comments created to solicit upvotes.
  • Posts created to promote or advertise a user’s content outside of this site, including videos, fanart, AMVs, social media, etc.
  • Posts or comments about or asking for help in One Piece video games, such as Blox Fruits, Bounty Rush, etc.

The following conduct is not allowed:

  • Spamming, trolling, or vandalizing of any kind. This includes emoji spam.
  • Comments that are off-topic to the original post's content.
  • Comments that are low effort and/or intended only to increase the number of comments on a post.
  • Insulting, intimidating, or abusive comments.
  • Impersonation of other users or famous people.
  • Linking to suspicious and potentially malicious outside sites, including sites that host the anime, manga, or movies.
  • Posting of any adult rated content, including but not limited to pornography, any kind of hentai, extreme violence or profanity. Any discussion of sexual topics must remain "PG Rated".
  • Sharing or soliciting personal information such as phone numbers, home addresses, or social media accounts in the discussions.
  • Discussion in languages other than English. Posts with poor wording/grammar may be subject to deletion.
  • Making posts in the Staff Announcements Category, only Administrators and Moderators are allowed to do so.
  • Reporting posts for any reason other than being against the guidelines.
  • Necroposting, aka commenting on posts more than 30 days old.
  • Uploading images to the main part of the wiki exclusively for Discussions, or violating the Image Guidelines.

Blogs

Blogs are ways to communicate with other users in a more casual and open manner than in talk pages or forums. In blogs, users have the ability to quickly and easily comment on opinions, as well as share ideas quickly and efficiently. While blogs are more lightly regulated, there are some restrictions to prevent pointless blogs.

  • Blogs must contain some content. Short, few-sentence blogs, or blogs lacking sufficient content to begin a conversation are forbidden and subject to administrative deletion.
    • This means blogs must have a minimum length of about a paragraph, and contain a few substantial ideas in it.
  • Rudeness and the insulting of other users will not be tolerated. Remember that other users may have opinions that may contradict your own. Be respectful.
  • Blogs containing advertising may be subject to deletion, depending on the content of the blog.
  • Any blog's title may not be identical to an article's title.
  • Blogs must be related to One Piece or to the One Piece Wiki.
  • Blogs about future bounties are not allowed.
  • Blogs which only compare the strengths of two characters are not allowed.
  • Blogs with comment sections that get out of hand (ex: turn into flame wars) will have the comments locked.
  • Blogs are not allowed to have any categories added to them aside from Category:Blog posts.

Discord Server

The One Piece Wiki has an official Discord chat server that anyone can join. It can be accessed here. Below are the information and rules for the server, which can also be found on dedicated channels in the server itself.

Rules

  1. Per the Discord Terms of Service, you must be 13 or older to join. Users who are found to be underage will be banned immediately.
  2. No NSFW (Not Safe For Work) content (includes inappropriate avatars and nicknames).
  3. No spam (includes unnecessary flooding, role-playing, disrupting conversations and overuse of symbols, mentions, emojis and gifs and repetitive words).
  4. No racism, sexism, homophobia or other kinds of hate speech, slurs, trolling or hostile behavior.
  5. Swearing is allowed, but do not take it too far.
  6. Avoid public drama, solve any issues in private or DM a moderator.
  7. No advertising unless being given explicit permission by a moderator (includes inviting people to other servers).
  8. No malware.
  9. Use only English (unless you are quoting text in the context of the series).
  10. No awkward topics, like religion, politics, flirting, etc. This rule will mainly be enforced if such discussion results in the aforementioned public drama.
  11. Do not excessively use caps, lock, "spoiler" tag, or message replies. Avoid spoiling intentionally.
  12. People harassing, mass advertising their servers, sending malware or disturbing other members via DM will be banned.
  13. Abide to the channel descriptions and do not post off-topic content in a channel. Violating this rule multiple times will lead to warnings.
  14. Linking to other Discord servers is not allowed and will trigger an automatic warning from the server bot.
  15. Banned users who join the server with different accounts (known as "sockpuppets") will have those accounts permanently banned and their original account's ban length will be extended.
  16. Users who are banned from editing the wiki are also banned from the Discord server for the same amount of time as their wiki ban.
  17. Any further issue not stated is up to the discretion of moderators.

Discipline

The server has a three-step disciplinary system: Warn, Jail, and Ban. Continued rule breaking after receiving the first punishment will result in the second and possibly third punishments. Our administrators and chat moderators are in charge of upholding the rules and levying punishments when necessary.

  • Warn: The user is muted for a short time (around ten minutes).
  • Jail: The user will be confined to a single channel, not having access to the other channels. They will remain there for around a few hours at the discretion of moderators.
  • Ban: If bad behavior continues despite the user receiving the previous punishments, they will be banned either temporarily or permanently at the discretion of moderators.

Certain egregious actions, such as posting pornographic content or other extremely disruptive material, will result in the offending user being banned immediately.

User Roles

When a user joins the server, they will be given the Aspiring Pirates role. If the user possesses a FANDOM account, they may message an admin or mod with a link to their account and they will be given the Crewmates role. Crewmates possess some minor abilities that Aspiring Pirates do not have.
