Octopus Mash is a giant octopus that appeared in Hatchan's Sea-Floor Stroll. It first appeared in Chapter 204's cover page.[1]

Appearance

The Octopus Mash is a giant octopus with a mushroom-shaped head. On the top of his head, he has a compartment that he can store things in, such as the Takoyaki recipe and sauce.[3]

Personality

Octopus Mash cares greatly about protecting Macro’s treasure, since the fishman trusted him to keep it.[4] Based off of his facial expression, he also doesn’t like Hatchan.[1]

Abilities and Powers

Octopus Mash, despite his appearance, is quite weak, since he was easily bested by Hatchan.[5]

History

Hatchan followed the map that he was given by the Macro Pirates to find the secret Takoyaki recipe.[4] He followed the map and found the Octopus Mash.[1] After a short fight, Octopus Mash was easily defeated, and Hatchan ran to save Keimi, angered since he thought the pirates lied to him.[5]

After Hatchan beat Macro and his crew, he learned that there was a secret compartment in Octopus Mash's head.[2] He returned and opened Octopus Mash's compartment, revealing the recipe and special Takoyaki sauce.[3] Hatchan proceeded to take the defeated octopus and the sauce to make Takoyaki for his crush, Octopako.[6]

Hatchan was later seen cooking the Takoyaki for the citizens of Headband Catfish Village instead of Octopako.[7] It is unknown what happened to Octopus Mash afterwards.

Major Battles

  • Octopus Mash vs. Hatchan[5]

Trivia

  • It is unknown what happened to Octopus Mash in the end, but since he was seen unconscious with Hatchan[6] and the sauce one second and the next Hatchan was making Takoyaki[8], an octopus dish, he could possibly have been killed and used in the meal. This has yet to be confirmed.
