Namakura Island
From One Piece Encyclopedia
Namakura Island (ナマクラ島 Namakura-tō, Lazy Bones Island in the FUNimation subs[1]) is a place in the Grand Line that is called Harahettania (ハラヘッターニャ Harahettānya, Hungeria in the FUNimation subs[2]) the Land of Poverty. "Hara hetta" means "I'm hungry" in Japanese. The place is completely ravaged and the people there are completely poor. The turmoil of the country apparently seems to have been caused by the Longarm Tribe. Because of this, the people have been forced to rely on a demon summoning ritual to solve their problems. It was during the very moment they were doing this ritual, that Brook landed here after being sent flying by Bartholomew Kuma from the Sabaody Archipelago with his Devil Fruit powers. Having landed precisely during the ritual, the people believe that they've successfully summoned Satan, "the King of Demons".[3]
