The crew is rather small, as it only has three members: Macro, Gyaro, and Tansui. They were originally parts of Sun Pirates crews which were split into three factions, Jinbe's crew, the Arlong Pirates, and the Macro Pirates.
The Macro Pirates' ship is an odd craft with paddle wheels and a large fish bowl taking up all the room on the back half of the ship. The steering is on the front of the ship, and a small cabin is located on the front half of the ship. On top of the cabin is rooftop held by pillars, a fish on top of the roof and a sofa with a high back underneath. The crew's jolly roger is on top of the tank. It was first seen in Chapter 197's cover page, and last seen in Chapter 208's cover page, when Hatchan destroyed it.
The trio used to be old friends of Hatchan, as they were once members of the Sun Pirates like him. However, after he destroyed their ship and took back Keimi, they became on negative terms.
They first appear in Hatchan's Sea-Floor Stroll when Hatchan sold Keimi to them for exchange of a map. After Hatchan later comes to believe the map they sold him was a fake, he destroys their ship, beats them up, and frees Keimi.
More recently, the Macro Pirates were brought under the reign of the kidnapping ring lead by Duval near the Sabaody Archipelago. After Hatchan was freed, they attempted to kill him, however he easily beat them all with his fists.
Despite the Sun Pirates' take on slavery, Macro and his group show no objections towards the idea of handing in mermaids or other fishmen, despite the reactions of other fishmen and merman seen in the series towards such an act; even more they were originally parts of Sun Pirates which put such hatred towards that kind of act.
All the fishmen that make up the crew are freshwater fish.
They are the smallest crew in the series, made up of only three people.
