Personality[]

Not much of its personality is known, but it appears to be friendly as it is able to form a close bond with Gaimon.

History[]

Syrup Village Arc[]

Lionbuta was the first animal Luffy and Nami encountered on the Island of Rare Animals.[1] He was seen again with a group of animals when Gaimon waved goodbye to the departing Straw Hats.[4]

Buggy's Crew Adventure Chronicles[]

Lionbuta, Cocox, and Usagihebi were there to witness Buggy's crash-landing on the Island of Rare Animals and the subsequent battle between him and Gaimon.[5]They later danced and partied along with Buggy. He then witnesses Buggy's departure along with Gaimon and other animals.

From the Decks of the World[]

Lionbuta was seen watching happily as the new inhabitant of the island, the barrel-woman Sarfunkel, fed Gaimon some food.[6]

Trivia[]

  • Its name is a portmanteau between the words lion and buta (豚, Japanese for pig). This also corresponds to its appearance as a pig with a lion's mane.
