Kumate Island is inhabited by the Kumate Tribe, a cannibalistic tribe.

History[]

East Blue Saga[]

Buggy's Crew Adventure Chronicles[]

After being run out of Orange Town, the Buggy Pirates - without their captain - landed on Kumate Island, where they held a funeral for him. Soon after, Richie was promoted to captain, and the pirates ran into the Kumate Tribe. Meanwhile, Buggy and Alvida stumble onto Kumate Island, recognizing Buggy's ship on the shore. They rescue the pirate crew from being eaten by the Kumate Tribe, before subsequently leaving the island.

Live-Action and Anime Differences[]

In the live-action series, Kumate Island is shown to be a small, heart-shaped island with four small islands jutting out of it, similar to a bear's footprint.
