Kashigami, or "God Serpent Kashigami" was the mother of Jaya and the grandmother of Norla. It was thought to be a god by the Shandians.
[edit] History
When it first appeared in the story, Calgara's daughter was about to be sacrificed to it, when Montblanc Norland defeated it.[1]
[edit] Trivia
- A common error of the giant snakes is to be mistaken for males. Kashigami was noted as "God" instead of "Goddess". This is repeated with her own child (Norland, "The giant snake had a son!") and Norla her granddaughter (Calgara, "The giant snake had a grandson!").
- Kashigami is compariable to Quetzalcoatl, an Aztec God.
