Jao Kun Do is a martial art based on leg attacks. It was first seen used by Blue Gilly in the battle royale at the Corrida Colosseum.[1]

Overview[]

Jao Kun Do is a close range attack-based fighting style which involves leg motions so swift that foes cannot predict where a kick will land.[1]

The only known practitioner of this art, Blue Gilly, has leg movements so rapid that they create afterimages that confuse opponents. He can then attack with force comparable to that of a steel whip.[1]

Techniques[]

  • Shooting Moon (シューティングムーン, Shūtingu Mūn?): Blue Gilly rushes towards his enemy and jumps rapidly to kick them in the neck in an attempt to break it. Whether the attack is effective or not is unknown since Blue Gilly was defeated by Elizabello II's King Punch before he could manage to complete his move. It was first used against King Elizabello in the Corrida Colosseum.[2]

Trivia[]

  • The katakana (ジャオクンドー) is derived from the Chinese pronunciation of the kanji (脚功道) in name of this martial art in Hanzi (Jiao Gong Dao) and both translate into English as the same thing ("Leg Technique Way").
  • Jao Kun Do may also be a pun on Jeet Kune Do (截拳道, Way of the Intercepting Fist), a combat system and philosophy founded by Bruce Lee. It is known as Sekkendō in Japanese.
