Ido is an anime-only town in Alabasta.[1]

Geography

Ido, as a desert town, is based in the sand. Despite this, it has somewhat vibrant vegetation, including grasses, trees, and bushes. The buildings all look similar, seeming to be built of an adobe-like material.

History

Camus and his three con men associates arrived in this town in order to find food, so they begin to pose as Rebel Army soldiers promising to protect the village from bandits. When the Straw Hat Pirates with Ace and Vivi arrive at Ido, they discover the con artists' scheme, and after a little discussion, decide to turn the four fakers into real heroes. Luffy and his comrades attack them and Camus thought about the people that want to be like him when they grow up, like how he wanted to be in relation to Chaka and Pell. The pirates then run away, pretending to be cowards and showing the villagers that Camus and his friends are heroes. Thanks to them, Camus and his friends learn the importance of being a hero.[1]

Citizens

Besides Camus and his companions, who were only temporary citizens while they traveled across Alabasta, Ido is home to many villagers. Some of its more predominant citizens include Ido's unnamed mayor, a short man with glasses who is quite kind and welcoming to Camus and his companions, and a few unnamed children who look up to and inspire Camus and his companions.
