Gyasta is a town located in Drum Island. It was only mentioned as one of Kureha's stops, and a sign pointing to it was shown.[2]

Layout[]

Gyasta is a lakeside town north of Cocoa Weed. Because it borders a lake, ice skating is the most popular activity in this town.[1]

Dr. Kureha's Former Residence[]

Kureha's Former Residence

Kureha's home built inside a tree.

On the outskirts of Gyasta, there is a huge tree that once served as Kureha's home and also the place where she performed her medical examinations.[3]

When King Wapol fled from Drum after the Blackbeard Pirates ravaged the country, Kureha moved out to Drum Castle at some point. The tree, however, was not completely abandoned as a long white rope was tied between it and somewhere atop the Drum Rockies. By running along this ropeway while pulling Kureha's sleigh, Tony Tony Chopper could freely transport her back and forth through both locations.[4]

History[]

Past[]

Hiriluk once headed to Kureha's house in order to be examined. There, he learned that he had contracted a deadly disease and had a few weeks to live even with the best treatment Kureha could offer to him.[3]

Drum Island Arc[]

After Kureha came to Cocoa Weed to treat Tamachibi, a resident overheard that she was headed to Gyasta. When Dalton, Vivi, and Usopp came through looking for her, the rumor was passed along. Before they could leave for Gyasta, Dalton was told of Wapol's return, and he set out to stop the former king at Bighorn instead.[1]

Vivi and Usopp set out for Gyasta on their own, but because they were distracted trying to figure out the island's map, they went right past the sign for Gyasta and ended up back in Bighorn after meeting up with Roronoa Zoro.[2] After Dalton was rescued by the Lapahn-caused avalanche earlier, Usopp, Vivi and Zoro were informed about some Gyasta locals finding a long rope tied to Kureha's old house that could be used to install a new Drum Ropeway.[4]
