Gecko Moria wields a giant pair of scissors fitting for a person of his size. He uses it in conjuncture with his Devil Fruit, the Kage Kage no Mi's, powers, to steal the shadows of other people in order to build his army of zombies, in the hopes of rebuilding his chances of defeating Kaidou and becoming the Pirate King.[1] He seems to carry this pair of scissors with him at all times.[2]
[edit] Abilities
The giant pair of scissors are mainly used to sever the shadows of Moria's victims, after he peeled the shadow off the ground. Moria then can use the shadows to implant into his zombie soldiers to give them life, or empower himself.
The scissors can also be disconnected at its joints to become a pair of swords for Moria, which allows him to fight in close-combat. Used in combination of shadows of competent swordsmen (such as the Marines of Marineford), this allows Moria to become one. When used as such, they resemble reverse-bladed cutlasses, because the blade is towards the inside while they are still a pair of scissors.[3]
