Gum Gum gattling is controlled - Luffy knows where he wants his blows to land, while Gum Gum storm is almost completely random - Luffy dosent know where his attacks are going.

Regarding the last post, Luffy does know where his attacks are going. This can be seen in the Skypea Arc when Luffy fights Eneru. Eneru was using observational haki (Eneru calls it montra) and dodges his attacks. Luffy has to turn around and punch the wall so his attacks would be at random.

I dont think luffy ever used gum gum storm against enel, plus that has to be the differenence from gum gum storm and gum gum gatling otherwise there wouldnt be a point in gum gum storm.69.203.13.98 22:55, August 6, 2012 (UTC)

Storm is faster than a regular gatling and has more attacks. It also has more force because Luffy is propelled upward by the air he blows out. Jet gatling however, is faster than storm but can't be sustained for very long.71.254.185.154 23:30, August 7, 2012 (UTC)

and if i remember right (i think he used storm to finish crocodile the first time) storm also contains kicks while gatling only consists of punches

i think during strom he is spining his whole body 65.8.151.92 18:46, August 16, 2012 (UTC)

yeah the only reason they are different is really that Storm uses Luffy's feet as well, Gattling is just fists. And regarding the second post, I think after the timeskip Luffy knows more about where his attacks are going, but with Enel, the whole point of Luffy's punches ricocheting off the wall was that he DIDNT know where they were going, and they were random so as to make Observation Haki useless and his moves unpredictable, the volume of punches was just so much that he was bound to hit Enel 69.158.163.150 21:47, January 26, 2014 (UTC) ActualFactual

No, you're wrong on that. The move he used against Enel was octupus themed. Storrm is like gatling except in the air, with extra power from the momentem of spinning due to twisting himself while he's in ballon (fuusen) form, and iirc, all instances of  it (vs croc, oz) are aiming upward, although I'm not sure if directional variants of it (e.g left, right, downwards) would be called something different. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.191.91.77 (talk • contribs).
