Wano Country

Bull

A bull is a large species of cattle with dark coat, long horns, and a bulky body. It also has small eyes. The only known bull is the personal steed of Ashura Doji.

They may be based on the real-life Japanese Fighting Bull.

Spring Octopus

Spring Octopus (春ダコ, Haru-dako^?) is a species of octopus wearing a hachimaki headband. Before the Straw Hat Pirates arrived at Wano Country, one snuck on the Thousand Sunny in the water surrounding the country. It was seemingly able to lead a school of koi by calling to them with noises normally associated with kabuki plays. It also attempted to hold back Luffy from following his crewmates as they escaped a whirlpool, causing them to become separated.

Some spring octopuses are employed as sansuke (三助, male bath attendants) at the Flower Capital bathhouse, helping clients scrub their backs and wash their hair.

Dream Koi

A school of dream koi.

Dream Koi (夢鯉, Yume-goi^?) are gigantic koi that are known to inhabit Wano Country's seas. Despite being freshwater fish, they swim into the land by following the inward sea currents of the country. Once they arrive at the waterfall that brings the country's freshwater to the sea, the koi attempt to climb it by swimming up the stream. The Straw Hats were able to use these koi to reach the top of the waterfall through Luffy's Gomu Gomu no Mi, arriving at the Wano Country shortly after.

Baboon

A large Baboon (狒々, Hihi^?) was encountered by Luffy right after arriving at Wano Country. It towers over an average-sized person and it seems capable of wielding a katana. It was later named Hihimaru after being tamed by Luffy and Tama.

Madsaurus

Madsaurus (マッドサウルス, Maddosaurusu^?) is a dinosaur species brought to Wano Country by the Beasts Pirates. It is a raptor-like dinosaur with a snake-like head. They are used by members of the Beasts Pirates as mounts. When two members of the Beasts Pirates and their mount attacked, Luffy easily defeated one of the two and then punched their mount which caused one of the riders to accidentally shoot his own beast in the head which caused an explosion, knocking out the mount followed with the remaining rider by Tama. Members of the Hawkins Pirates also ride these animals.

Tigers

Large Tigers (トラ, Tora^?) reside in Wano's wasteland and are unique in that they have flame-like eyebrows. One was seen hunting a wild boar while the tiger itself was being hunted by a Wanizame. Another was later used by Franky, Nami and Kanjuro as a mode of transport with Franky adding a saddle and strapping handlebars to its head. In the anime, it had a tuff of fur on each leg and a bushy tail that all resemble flames.

Wild Boars

Large Wild Boars (猪, Inoshishi^?) reside in Wano's wasteland and have very bushy fur. One was seen being hunted by a tiger that was being pursued by a Wanizame.

Queen has boars with lines that goes around their head and crosses in an X on their forehead, much like the straps of his sunglasses. He used them to pull his rickshaw and the cart carrying the unconscious Big Mom to bring to Onigashima.

White Boars

There was a white boar piglet that was given a strong monetary value by the Kurokoma. According to Denjiro, if the piglet was taken, its parent, called the Mountain God, would wreak havoc around the country looking for it.

Wanizame

A Wanizame.

A Wanizame (ワニザメ, Wanizame^?) was seen by Luffy as it was chasing a tiger and a wild boar. It is a giant sea monster resembling a crocodile crossed with a shark with several dorsal fins on its back. Jack also used a Wanizame as his personal mount when he confronted Shutenmaru in Okobore Town.

It is based on the legendary Japanese sea dragon which was described as resembling a shark and a crocodile.

Raccoon Dog

A Raccoon Dog (タヌキ, Tanuki^?) was seen in Bakura Town under the ownership of an old couple who owned a restaurant. The creature was later presumably eaten by Urashima after he ordered the old couple to cook their beloved pet and feed it to him.

Koma

Koma's refer to large species of animals that are indigenous to Wano. They share the traits of being larger than their normal animal species counterpart, as well as possessing a tail and mane (in the case of birds, combs and wattle) with a flame-like appearance. So far, all known Koma species are mainly tamed by the denizens of Wano as mounts. They are predominantly mammals, with the exception of the Komatori, which is based on a rooster.

Komainu

A large Komainu (狛犬, Komainu^?) was encountered by Luffy shortly arriving at Wano Country, where it was being attacked by a giant baboon wielding a katana that sent it hurling into the Thousand Sunny. It is a giant creature with flame-like mane and tail that resembles a dog with a pig-like nose and a leonine body. The only named Komainu is Komachiyo.

Komashika

A Komashika (狛鹿, Komashika^?) was used by Basil Hawkins as his personal mount when he confronted Luffy and Zoro in the wasteland. It is a deer-like creature with sharp teeth, largely curved antlers, spotted fur on its legs, a flame-like mane, and flame-like eyebrows. It resembles a Kirin.

Komatori

A Komatori (狛鶏, Komatori^?) is a giant breed of rideable chicken with flame-like combs and wattles. Kin'emon and Inuarashi were seen riding these birds at Shimotsuki Yasuie's execution. They resemble the basan.

Komadane

A Komadane (狛デーン, Komadēn^?) is a Great Dane with spotted fur. They have a bushy tail and small tuffs of fur on their legs that resemble flames. They're large enough for an average sized person to ride on and one was ridden by the leader of Komurasaki's funeral procession.

Komagitsune

A komagitsune (狛狐, Komagitsune^?) is a fox with flame-like mane and tail. The only known komagitsune is Onimaru, who was once the companion of the late Shimotsuki Ushimaru and later became an ally of Kawamatsu.

Komauma

A komauma is a horse with flame-like mane and tail. 20 years ago, they were used to pull Kurozumi Orochi's cart when he traveled to Kuri.

Tanishi

The Tanishi (タニシ, Tanishi^?, literally meaning "River Snail") are Wano Country's equivalent to the Den Den Mushi. Unlike the Den Den Mushi, which are based on land snails, the Tanishi's shell spirals out like tower shell sea snails. Due to Wano's seeming lack of natural Den Den Mushi and reclusive policy, Tanishi are the dominant form of communication within the country. While Tanishi are a separate species from Den Den Mushi, they serve many of the same functions Den Den Mushi do.

Smart Tanishi

The Smart Tanishi (スマートタニシ, Sumāto Tanishi^?, literally meaning "Smart River Snail"; VIZ: "Smart Snail"), or Smashi (スマシ, Sumashi^?, VIZ: "Smail") for short, are small Tanishi used as a mobile and compact communication tool similar to Baby Den Den Mushi. Their shell is used as a handle for the user. Like the Den Den Mushi, the Smashi replicates the voice and expressions of the people on the other side of the call. Smashi have a limited range, and require a Boss Tanishi in order to send signals long distance. Notably, Smashi are not limited to sending signals to other Smashi, and have been used to call Den Den Mushi users.

Picture Tanishi

Picture Tanishi from Udon.

The Picture Tanishi (光画（ひかりえ）タニシ, Hikarie Tanishi^?, literally meaning "Light Picture River Snail"; VIZ: "Light-Scroll Snail") is a larger Tanishi which is capable of broadcasting live video feeds via light from their eyes as well as audio, functioning similarly to a projector. Picture Tanishi act as the Proko Den Den Mushi equivalent, being similar in size and function, but unlike Proko, have no visible technological attachments.

Picture Tanishi are the only Tanishi that have been shown to be capable of movement, even displaying the ability to ascend vertical structures with minimal help.

In the anime, an equivalent to the Den Den Mushi's Cameko, which act as the camera that Picture Tanishi receives signals from, can be seen, though it is not given a name. These Cameko equivalents were also shown emitting light from their eyes in order to create a light show during Queen's performance.

Boss Tanishi

The Boss Tanishi (親分タニシ, Oyabun Tanishi^?, VIZ: "Boss Snail") are large snails that are able to handle the signals of many Smashi and direct them to further distances, surpassing their limited range. One stationed in the Prisoner Mine's Executive Tower was able to extend Smashi signals as far as Onigashima.

Hippo-Camel

Hippo-Camel

Hippo-Camel (フタコブカバ, Futa Kobu Kaba^?) are large creatures that strongly resembles Hippopotamus but has two humps on its back, similar to a species of camels. They are used as riding beasts by Caramel and Cidre's Bounty Hunter group. There seems to be two variants, a pink and grey colored, with the former only seen with Caramel. They seem durable enough to carry heavy loads.

Giant White Tiger

A giant white tiger lives in the forest next to the Kuri Castle and wields a giant katana. It is territorial and enjoys combat, challenging Roronoa Zoro on a whim. It is strong enough to clash with the swordsman. It appeared in Episode 909.
