Meryl is the captain of the Meryl Pirates (メリル海賊団, Meriru Kaizoku-dan?). She appears in One Piece: Great Hidden Treasure of the Nanatsu Islands.[1]

Meryl is a slightly-tanned young woman with large brown eyes and short brown hair. She wears a blue, sleeveless shirt and blue shorts. She also wears a fur-lined, horned blue hat and beige sandals.
Personality[]
Meryl is a very aggressive person, threatening Otsu and starting a fight with the Straw Hat Pirates for interfering. She does seem aware of her aggression and is able to control it in certain situations. She also thinks Chopper is adorable.[1]

Meryl is quite weak, since she and her subordinates were easily defeated by the Straw Hat Pirates.

Meryl has been seen carrying a long staff. She seems fairly skilled in using it.
History[]
Past[]
At some point, Meryl and crew were lured to the Nanatsu Islands by a parrot that spoke about treasure. They landed on Mi Island, which was suffering from extremely cold weather.[1]
Great Hidden Treasure of the Nanatsu Islands[]
Meryl decided to have her crew take over the mountain cottage occupied Otsu and make it their base of operations. After one of her subordinates was defeated by Otsu, Meryl herself arrived at the cottage and discovered that Sanji, Usopp, and Chopper were with him. Meryl tried to threaten the old man and pirates, but, after a battle, she and her subordinates retreated to the village.[1]
Later, in the village tavern, Meryl and her subordinates met the Straw Hat Pirates again. When speaking to them, she kept a grudge for being beaten earlier. After the Straw Hat Pirates got the Simon Pirates out of the village, Meryl thanked them.[1]

Trivia[]
- Due to her minor role, Meryl's portraits and sprites are reused from generic enemies. She shares this fate with the other minor pirate captains, Carragan, Halsey, Kimmel and LeMay.
