Eternal Pose

An Eternal Pose (永久指針, etānaru pōsu, "eternal compass needle") is a special type of compass used in the One Piece world. While a Log Pose helps navigate from island to island on the Grand Line, an Eternal Pose always points to the same island, no matter how long it stays elsewhere. These are used heavily by those who have a home port on a specific island of the Grand Line, as well as by the Marines. In the 4Kids English dub of the anime, it is called an "Eternal Compass."
