Electro[2] is a technique utilized by members of the Mink Tribe.[3]

Description

Users of Electro can channel electricity through parts of their bodies in order to shock anything they touch.[1][4][3] This power can also be channeled through weapons.[1][5][6] This technique grants extra damage to attacks, giving the opponents electric burns and paralysis.

All minks can use Electro, including infants and the elderly, and it seems to be common knowledge among them.[3] The inability to produce Electro is a sign of not being a mink, as Carrot indicated by Randolph's lack of the ability to do so.[7]

Named Techniques

  • Mo Golova (モー頭 (ガラヴァ), Mō Garava?, literally meaning "Moo Head"): Roddy headbutts his opponent while using Electro to shock them. It was first used against Monkey D. Luffy during their clash in the Whale Forest.[8] Golova (голова) is Russian for "head".
  • Eleclaw (エレ爪 (クロ), Erekuro?): Carrot uses Electro to charge up her fist with electricity and attacks her opponent by leaping onto them. It was first used to attack Charlotte Brûlée. Eleclaw is a portmanteau of the "elec" root several electricity-related words originates from and "claw".[9]
Electrical Luna

Electrical Luna.

  • Electrical Luna (エレクトリカルルナ, Erekutorikaru Runa?, literally meaning "Electrical Moon"): Carrot charges up a ball of electricity with both hands and slams it into the ground, causing a wide-range blast capable of electrocuting several foes at once. It was first used to defeat Randolph and several of Brûlée's underlings, and at the time, the water spilled on the floor beneath them enhanced the power of the attack. "Luna" is Spanish, Italian, Czech and several other languages for "Moon". [10]

Trivia

  • Several humans have demonstrated the ability to discharge electricity in a manner similar to Electro:
    • McGuy is able to imbue his sword with electricity, demonstrated when fighting in the Battle of Marineford.[11]
    • Trafalgar Law is able to discharge a high voltage with his Counter Shock, and imbue electricity into his sword via the Radio Knife.[12]
    • Vinsmoke Niji is capable of electrifying parts of his body, earning himself the epithet "Electric Blue".
    • Vinsmoke Judge is also able to electrify parts of his body, as well as discharge electricity from his spear.
  • Like the Goro Goro no Mi, Electro is practically useless against the user of the Gomu Gomu no Mi due to rubber's insulating properties.[13]
  • This ability may reference the Raijū, a Japanese mythical creature with multiple forms cloaked in lightning.
