Abandoned Ideas[]

  • The Green Databook revealed that Sanji's original name was going to be 'Naruto'. However, as the ninja manga "Naruto" was about to be serialized with Jump, Oda changed the name to prevent confusion.
  • The two new admirals were originally going to be Pig and Kappa (which, alongside Kizaru's Monkey, would be a nod to Journey to the West) as opposed to Tiger and Bull.

Devil Fruits[]

  • Neko Neko no Mi (ネコネコの実?): A Devil Fruit Oda initially intended for Marguerite, making her a Cat Human (ネコ人間, Neko Ningen?).[1] Also referred to as Neko Neko no Mi, Model: Kuroneko (ネコネコの実・モデル黒猫, Neko Neko no Mi Moderu Kuroneko?, literally "Model: Black Cat") in Vivre Card - One Piece Visual Dictionary.[2]
  • Kona Kona no Mi (コナコナの実, Kona Kona no Mi?, lit. Flour Flour Fruit): A Devil Fruit Oda initially intended for Charlotte Katakuri before deciding on the Mochi Mochi no Mi.[3]
  • Kaju Kaju no Mi (カジュカジュの実, Kaju Kaju no Mi?, lit. Fruit Fruit Fruit): A Devil Fruit Oda initially intended for Charlotte Smoothie before deciding on the Shibo Shibo no Mi.[4]
  • Obi Obi no Mi (オビオビの実, Obi Obi no Mi?, lit. Sash Sash Fruit): A Devil Fruit Oda initially intended for Black Maria.[5]
  • Ryu Ryu no Mi, Model Stegosaurus (リュウリュウの実 モデル ステゴサウルス?): Another Devil Fruit Oda initially intended for Black Maria.[6]

Trivia[]

  • In an SBS question corner, Oda mentioned considering a Devil Fruit called "Ero Ero no Mi" for Monkey D. Luffy about 13 times. However, this was most likely just a joke.[7]
