The Hitsugibune[2] is a small craft used by the former Warlord, Dracule Mihawk.

Appearance[]

The black boat resembles a coffin and has candles lit on the edges that burn with green fire. The ship is only big enough for one person. At the center is a mast that resembles a large crucifix, similar to Mihawk's sword, with black sails and a seat for himself.

Abilities[]

This meager craft has no apparent significance, but Mihawk was able to sail the unforgiving seas of the Grand Line on it, which is a testament to his skills.

History[]

East Blue Saga[]

Baratie Arc[]

Mihawk sailed Hitsugibune to the Baratie in pursuit of the Krieg Pirates and sliced through their ship.[1] He got off the boat to face Zoro and leaves quickly after defeating the pirate and deflecting artillery from Krieg.[3]

Loguetown Arc[]

Mihawk arrives with Hitsugibune at an island that Shanks resides in order to show him that Luffy is now a wanted pirate.[4]

Wano Country Saga[]

The following events are Non-Canon and therefore not considered part of the Canon story.

One Piece: Stampede[]

Mihawk and Perona sailed Hitsugibune to Delta Island and as he approached, he sliced through the Bliking Pirates ship while seated. They left on the ship shortly after arriving.[5]

Concludes non-canon section.

Wano Country Arc[]

After the Seven Warlords of the Sea were disbanded, the Marines approached Kuraigana Island to ambush Mihawk. He was already captaining Hitsugibune as they approached, excited to be wanted again.[6]

Manga and Anime Differences[]

The Hitsugibune is seen in a Jaya Arc filler scene in which Mihawk is sailing on it and looking at Luffy and Zoro's bounty posters before heading to Mary Geoise.[7]

Merchandise[]

Hitsugibune appears as part of the One Piece Mega Bloks Confrontation of Fate Set and as a model ship in the Set 1 of the One Piece Super Ship Collection. It is available as an unlockable ship in One Piece Treasure Cruise, in which it boosts Slasher character ATK and HP by 1.5x and reduces Captain's RCV by 700.

Trivia[]

  • The ship's name, Hitsugibune, literally means "coffin boat", seemly a reference to its owner's appearance and style.
