He seems to be skilled in using a sword, as he was able to cut up Coby's guns in small pieces without hurting him in mere seconds. Later, he was seen training Coby and Helmeppo using only one hand to defend himself.

History

A Storm in the Edd War

Bogart and Garp in Kong's office during the battle of the Edd War.

Twenty seven years ago, Bogart was in Kong's office when Garp was asked again to accept the rank of admiral. When the Marines learned that the Roger Pirates and the Golden Lion Pirates were about to battle in the Edd War, Garp decided to end the reunion and turned down another promotion, even though Kong did not agree and ordered him to stay. Bogart then nodded at the Fleet-Admiral and left the office with Garp, who was willing to head for the New World in order to defeat Gol D. Roger.

Current Events

He was instrumental in training Coby and Helmeppo. He was also seen with Vice Admiral Garp in Water 7 after the Enies Lobby incident. It is unknown what Bogart decided to do after Garp resigned from the Marines after the Battle of Marineford.

Anime and Manga Differences

His name was revealed in the Episode 68 credits and was never mentioned in the manga which makes the name non-canon. Also in the anime version of the Diary of Coby-Meppo, Bogart was never seen cutting Coby's guns as Coby didn't carry any.

Trivia

  • He resembles the actor Humphrey Bogart, most notably in Casablanca in terms of appearance and name.
  • He was under Garp's command for at least twenty five years.
