The Bisu Bisu no Mi is a Paramecia-type Devil Fruit that allows the user to generate and manipulate biscuits at will, making them a Biscuit Human (ビスケット人間, Bisuketto Ningen?, VIZ: "Biscuitman"). It was eaten by Charlotte Cracker.[2]

Etymology[]

  • Bisu is short for bisuketto (ビスケット?), the Japanese pronunciation of "biscuit."
  • In the English dub, it is called the Bis-Bis Fruit, "bis" coming from "biscuit".

Strengths and Weaknesses[]

Luffy vs Cracker

Cracker's power manifests through his biscuit puppets.

Like other Paramecia fruits, this one lets the user conjure up near-limitless amounts of a certain substance. In this case, that substance is biscuit material, which is conjured by the user clapping their hands and can be manipulated in various ways. For instance, the user may bring together biscuits to form large, moving, humanoid figures that seem extremely lifelike, as well as weapons; mostly by crushing their biscuits into fine crumbs and powder to condense and mold into whatever shape they desire. As further demonstrated by Cracker, a user can even manipulate such humanoid figures from within and supplement them, such as adding extra limbs.

The biscuits are, or can be made, extremely hard akin to hardtack and, especially if enhanced by Busoshoku Haki, can serve as incredibly tough armor/shields. Even Luffy's Boundman is unable to completely break through a barrier composed of said biscuits, in spite of the form's immense physical strength and mobility.[3]

In spite of how strong the biscuits are, they can be shattered with sufficient force[4][5] or weakened by water, softening them enough to eat.[6] The ability of manifesting biscuits can also take a toll on the user's stamina if used consecutively and extensively.[7] Further, the user themselves could also be brought to harm by their own biscuit constructs if thrown against them forcefully enough.[8] Finally, it seems (though is unconfirmed) that the user clapping is necessary to produce the biscuits.

Otherwise, the user is affected by the standard Devil Fruit weaknesses.

Usage[]

Luffy Fights Cracker

Luffy facing "Cracker", or rather, his main puppet.

Cracker, as a master craftsman, can create biscuit puppets that look incredibly lifelike. He inhabits one of these puppets most of the time, causing many people, even the World Government, to mistake the puppet for his true appearance. This puppet aids him during battle, increasing his strength, and Cracker can strengthen it by adding extra limbs, complete with weapons. He also creates clones that he manipulates from the outside in order to outnumber and press his opponents. By adding a special jam, he can even create an illusion of the golems bleeding from injuries.[3]

Techniques[]

  • Crush Biscuit (クラッシュビスケット, Kurasshu Bisuketto?): Cracker conjures biscuits and crushes them into super-fine crumbs in order to shape them at will. It was first seen when Cracker explained his powers to Monkey D. Luffy, but was only given a name in the anime.[2] It is called Crushed Biscuit in the Funimation dub.
Cracker's Power

  • Biscuit Hei (ビスケット兵, Bisuketto Hei?, literally meaning "Biscuit Soldier"):[9] Cracker shapes a large warrior out of biscuits, which is incredibly lifelike thanks to his craftsmanship skills, but hollow inside. The number of biscuit warriors he can create is near endless. He controls these puppets at will and can hide himself inside any one of them, giving himself a powerful suit of armor. He can also add more limbs to them to increase their fighting range, strength, and speed. These Biscuit Soldiers also possess replicas of his sword Pretzel, made out of biscuit, which, like their limbs, can also be duplicated.[10] It was first seen in Cracker's battle against Luffy.[1] Additional puppets patrol all around Whole Cake Island, controlled by Big Mom's powers.[11] In the Funimation dub, Cracker calls them Biscuit Warrriors.
  • Hard Biscuit (ハードビスケット, Hādo Bisuketto?): While inside one of his soldiers, Cracker multiplies the puppet's cracker-shaped shield with his Devil Fruit, hardens them with Busoshoku Haki, and slams them onto his opponent, pinning them to the ground. It was first seen in Cracker's battle against Luffy.[12] It is called Hard Biscuit Block in the Funimation dub.

Anime-Only Techniques[]

  • Double Roll Pretzel (ダブルロールプレッツェル, Daburu Rōru Purettseru?): While still inside his Biscuit Soldier Armor, Cracker makes a duplicate of its arm and sword, then imbues his biscuit swords with Busoshoku Haki. The Biscuit Soldier then rotates its hands at high speed and stabs at his opponent.[13] It was first used against Luffy. In the Funimation dub, this is called Double Pretzel Roll.

Trivia[]

  • The Bisu Bisu no Mi may be based on a Japanese children's song called "Magical Pocket" (ぽけっとの なか, Pokettono naka?), which goes:
There is one biscuit in a jacket pocket.
By tapping on the pocket, it becomes two biscuits.
By tapping again it becomes three biscuits.
By tapping more and more it becomes many biscuits.
I want to have such magical pocket.

  • Cracker making lifelike clones out of biscuit called Biscuit Hei is similar to Doflamingo's Black Knight technique, where he made clones of himself out of string, though Cracker's real appearance greatly differs from the Biscuit Soldiers.
  • Similar to the Suna Suna no Mi, Awa Awa no Mi, and Mochi Mochi no Mi, this Devil Fruit has a weakness towards liquid, as it causes the fruits' power to weaken in effectiveness.
  • The biscuits created by this fruit, when considering their incredible hardness and weakness to liquids, seem to be based on hardtack.
