Barbarbossa

Barbarossa (Latin and Italian meaning "red beard") is a character, only seen in the anime. He is captain of the Barbar Pirates, who are sand pirates traveling the deserts of Arabasta on a pirate ship that can run on sand. Like his crew members, he wears a little umbrella on his head. He's also a little prankster. His crew nearly believe all his jokes. He knows the danger of the desert. Despite his enormous size, he isn't super strong. The Straw Hats meet him and his crew while traveling lost in the desert after Luffy accidentally broke their ship.
His name comes from real-life privateer Oruç Reis who was nicknamed Barbarossa, or Redbeard.
In Japanese, he was voiced by Yuichi Nagashima, who would later provide the voice of Brook.
