Akio Ōtsuka

Akio Ohtsuka (大塚 明夫, Ōtsuka Akio?, born November 24, 1959) is a veteran seiyū. He is also the son of veteran seiyū Chikao Ohtsuka. As of November 15, 2005, Akio works for Mausu Promotion, formerly Ezaki Production. He and fellow seiyū Yoko Soumi wed on February 11, 2005.

In One Piece, he does the voices of Blackbeard, Captain Joke, and Baron Omatsuri. His father plays the voice of Gol D. Roger.

Although not noted at the Internet Movie Database, according to the Anime News Network and as of April 2006, Akio Ohtsuka is one of the more prolific seiyū with 156 credits to his name. His more prominent roles have been Shunsui Kyouraku in Bleach, Batou in the Ghost in the Shell series and movies, and Solid Snake of the Metal Gear Solid videogame series.
