They traveled with and assisted the pirates for almost the entire Baroque Works Saga. Vivi being close to them, considered joining them and was even asked to join the group.[4] She however turned down the position in order to take care of her country, Arabasta.[5] Despite not actually joining the crew, she is considered an honorary Mugiwara.
Dorry and Brogy Little Garden Arc After the Straw Hats defeated Mr. 3 and his cohorts, and helped the two giants, the two gratefully aided the pirates by destroying the Island Eater that was blocking their path from Little Garden to Arabasta.[6]
Portgas D. Ace Arabasta Arc Luffy's brother who aided the Straw Hats by stopping Smoker from catching Luffy and destroying a fleet of five Billions ships that were pursuing them.[7][8] In the anime, he sort of traveled alongside with them through the Arabastan desert while looking for some answers to Blackbeard's whereabouts.[9] He left the group to continue his search but not before giving Luffy a mysterious piece of paper.

Group Arc(s) involved as allies Involvement with the Straw Hats
Saruyama Alliance Jaya Arc During the Straw Hats' time on Jaya, the alliance helped them to reach Skypiea. Their boss, Montblanc Cricket, informed them about how to reach the Sky Island through the use of the Knock Up Stream and the South Bird. The rest of the alliance modified the Going Merry into a "flying mode" to better maneuver the force of the current. Later, the Straw Hats repaid the alliance's efforts by ringing the Golden Bell thus clearing up the Montblanc family name.
Galley-La Company Water 7 Arc to Post-Enies Lobby Arc The company originally fought against the Straw Hats when they learned that their president, Iceburg, was almost assassinated by Nico Robin. When the truth was finally learned, the three of the remaining Galley-La foremen decided to join the Straw Hats to fight against CP9.[10] They, together with the Franky Family, formed a fighting force that invaded Enies Lobby and helped the Straw Hats reach their destination. After the Enies Lobby incident, the Galley-La company provided temporary room and board for the pirates while Iceburg and the foremen helped Franky build their new ship.[11]

Attack table[]

Dai Enkai (大炎戒, Great Flame Commandment):
A stronger version of Enkai where Ace summons great spiraling flames centered on his location before amassing it at a focused point (i.e. the palm of his hand) for a technique like Entei. In Unlimited Cruise, Ace activates this move by first bending his knees slightly and then placing the outstretched palm of his hand towards the ground (with his other hand gripping the wrist for support), where the flames manifest. In the Viz Manga, this is called Great Flame Commandment.

Gomu Gomu no Pistol (ゴムゴムの銃 [ピストル], Rubber Rubber Pistol):
Luffy's signature attack. A standard straight punch, augmented with stretching. This attack can be used from short to long range. This is called Gum-Gum Pistol in the Viz Manga and FUNimation dub and Gum-Gum Blast in the 4Kids dub. Its name comes from Luffy's claim to Shanks that his punching arm is "As powerful as a pistol!" This was first seen being used on the Lord of the Coast after ten years of training in the manga, while in the anime, it is first seen being used against Alvida. In the second version of Romance Dawn, Luffy used a technique similar in concept to this attack against Spiel. According to a fan poll, this is the ninth favorite attack amongst fans with a total of 552 votes.[12]
